Ownwiser Privacy Policy

Account and financial information

We process your email address, display name, account identifier and authentication information to create and protect your account. Passwords are submitted to Supabase Authentication; they are not stored as portfolio records in Ownwiser's application database. Sign-in tokens are stored on your device to maintain your session.

Your private account records can include holdings, purchase entries, recorded costs and values, currencies, investment goals, contribution plans, watchlists and notes that you enter or import. We also store account preferences such as your chosen colours, dashboard cards and Del appearance. These records support portfolio summaries and planning calculations. Ownwiser does not hold your money, execute trades or require your bank or brokerage password for manual entry or CSV and text import.

Community information

Joining Community is optional and requires acceptance of the Community rules and membership approval. Your community display name, bio, interests, posts, comments and visible Likes are shared with approved members. Community currently supports text and HTTPS links, rather than image or video uploads. Your private portfolio and goals are not automatically posted to Community.

We store membership applications, rules acceptance, saved posts, Likes, reports and blocked-member selections to operate Community and manage safety. Application messages and reports are available to authorised moderators. Saved-post selections and block lists are not displayed to other members. Blocking applies to the visibility of the two members' community posts, comments and profiles; moderators can still review content for safety. Members can report posts, comments and other members, including administrators. Do not post private financial records, passwords or another person's personal information.

Del conversations and feedback

Del's conversation history is stored in local web storage for your account on the browser or Android device you use. The app uses your recorded information to calculate and explain portfolio and goal results. Clearing Del history removes that local history on the current device; it does not delete feedback or improvement records already submitted to our server.

Unanswered questions and responses you report as unhelpful or problematic may be saved as redacted improvement examples for authorised admin review. The app attempts to remove known account names, email addresses, numbers and recorded holding or goal names. Improvement events can remain linked to your account identifier. Redaction reduces exposure but does not guarantee anonymity or removal of every personal detail. Your issue description may contain information you choose to include.

The optional AI language service is off by default. You can enable it using the consent control beside Del's composer and withdraw that choice there. The choice is stored for your account on the current device. When you enable and use the service, OpenAI receives the redacted question to identify its meaning. The classifier request does not include your portfolio dataset, balances or full chat history, and sets the API's store option to false. OpenAI's applicable processing and retention terms still apply. Del does not automatically train itself from feedback. Avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information in questions and feedback.

Activity and technical information

We record basic app interactions, feedback ratings, response identifiers, registration information, timestamps and recent account activity to understand usage and investigate problems. Basic activity events do not contain your portfolio balances or full Del conversations. Submitted feedback and redacted improvement examples are handled separately as described above.

Hosting and authentication providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information and operational or security logs when delivering and protecting the service. Local storage keeps sign-in sessions, account preferences, your optional AI choice, Del history, onboarding progress and recovery information on your device.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, maintain account records, calculate portfolio summaries and goal progress, preserve preferences, deliver market context and operate Community. Feedback and usage information support troubleshooting and product improvement. Reports and membership information support moderation, abuse prevention and access control. Support correspondence is used to respond to enquiries and verify and process data or account requests. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Providers and external content

Supabase provides authentication and processes account information. OpenAI's ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure host the application and its server database, including private account and Community records. Resend delivers authentication emails through the configured Supabase email service and processes delivery information such as recipient addresses. OpenAI also processes redacted questions when the optional Del language service is used.

Porkbun manages domain registration and DNS for fcreativeapps.com and forwards messages sent to support@fcreativeapps.com to our Gmail inbox. Porkbun and Google process addresses, message contents and any attachments to deliver and handle those enquiries.

Yahoo Finance, Google News, BBC Business and AMFI supply market, news or fund information. Relevant symbols, company names, fund search terms or market question text may be sent to providers through Ownwiser's server to obtain results. The app does not attach your full portfolio dataset or recorded balance fields to these requests. Search terms and questions can still contain information you type, so avoid sensitive details. Opening a news article or another external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Service providers may process information outside your country. We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service. The app owner and authorised administrators can access registered-user information, activity, feedback or Community moderation information according to their permissions. Delegated administration does not provide access to private portfolios through the admin screens.

Imports and device access

CSV and text files are read and parsed in the app. Investment records you choose to save are sent to your account storage; the current import flow does not retain the original import file as a server attachment. Exports create a copy that you control. The Android app requires internet access. Its current manifest does not request contacts, location, microphone, camera or advertising identifier permissions.

Retention and security

Account records remain available while you use the service. Earlier portfolio recovery copies, preferences, activity, submitted feedback and Community records are stored separately. The current service has no automatic expiry schedule for these records. Deleting portfolio data removes that portfolio and its application recovery copies, but does not delete your sign-in account or the separately stored information.

After a verified account-deletion request, we arrange deletion of the sign-in account and associated Ownwiser information, including private records and recovery copies, preferences, Community profile and contributions, reactions, saved selections, block relationships, account-linked feedback and activity. Information needed for a specific legal obligation or security investigation may be retained only as necessary for that purpose. Any such exception and its applicable retention period will be explained when responding to the request. Infrastructure providers may retain operational backups or security records under their own retention practices.

Ownwiser uses HTTPS and authenticated checks for private account APIs. Admin permissions restrict application access to administration features. These measures reduce risk but no internet service or device can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials and devices secure.

Your choices and account deletion

You can edit your records and preferences, export your Ownwiser data, delete your own Community posts or comments and manage blocked members. Settings includes controls to clear Del history, reset account preferences and delete portfolio data. Portfolio deletion is separate from closing your sign-in account and does not by itself delete Community content, feedback or activity.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, use Request account deletion in Settings or visit https://ownwiser.fcreativeapps.com/delete-account without installing or signing in to the app. Email support@fcreativeapps.com from your registered email address with the subject Ownwiser account deletion. Requests are handled by support after ownership verification; this is not an instant automatic deletion service. Do not send your password or financial documents. Contact support for the expected processing time or to check a request's progress.

Uninstalling the app does not delete server records. Delete exports and local copies that you control on other devices separately. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information. Contact support@fcreativeapps.com to make a request.

Children and policy changes

Ownwiser is intended for adults and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support so we can investigate and arrange removal.

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The published policy shows its updated date. Material changes will be explained through an appropriate notice in the app or website.
